If You Love Horses, You'll Love This

Entitled One Day, the documentary tells the story of how Alydar's sister, Our Mims, was found forlorn in a back field, far from the grandeur she'd known as a Champion Filly and esteemed broodmare at historic Calumet Farm.  By happenstance, she was saved by a woman who'd idolized her some 20 years before.  That woman, Jeanne Mirabito, not only rescued Our Mims, but went on to establish a sanctuary in her name.  It nurtures retired thoroughbred mares in Paris, Kentucky, to this day.

I've been privileged to visit the sanctuary, Our Mims Retirement Haven, and have been touched by the spirits of the reclaimed mares who Jeanne has polished and loved.  They shine.
